PHILLIP Schofield was all smiles as he arrived at the British Grand Prix at Silverstone by helicopter.

The former ITV stalwart, 62, beamed as he hopped off the chopper, pulling on his sunglasses as he touched down.

Phillip – who was axed from This Morning last spring after it was revealed he’d been lying about having an affair with a younger member of the production staff – donned a cosy brown jacket, tan trousers and boots.

He stayed snug with a neutral-coloured zip jumper worn underneath for his rare public outing.

He was joined by wife Steph Lowe as well as daughters Ruby and Molly as the family prepared for the prestigious sporting event.

The sporting site has been a celeb-studded affair of late, with Hollywood actor Brad Pitt spotted at qualifying yesterday.

Meanwhile, the Met Office has forecast thundery downpours for the race which will see British driver George Russell, 26, in pole position for Mercedes.

So it appears Phil’s winter warmers will be much-needed as he watches the sporting event play out.

Back in May, Phil returned to social media for the first time in a year.

He has seemingly been on the comeback trail in recent weeks after also being seen laughing and joking with ITV star Declan Donnelly.

The broadcaster was also seen stepping out to walk his adorable puppy near his London home.

TV FAREWELL

Phil left his plum This Morning presenting gig in May 2023 after 21 years in the hotseat.

His exit came after he reportedly become embroiled in a feud with former co-star Holly Willoughby for weeks.

At the time, he released a statement in full following his off-air controversy.

It read: “I have always been proud to cover fascinating stories on This Morning, but recently, This Morning itself has become the story.

“Throughout my career in TV – including the very difficult last few days – I have always done my best to be honourable and kind.

“I understand that ITV has decided the current situation can’t go on and I want to do what I can to protect the show that I love.

“So I have agreed to step down from This Morning with immediate effect, in the hope that the show can move forward to a bright future.

“I’d like to thank everyone what has supported me – especially This Morning’s amazing viewers.”
