At that point, I pretty much had to accept all of it, and at almost every level from basketball at age 9 to high school. junior high, to high school basketball, there were a lot of barriers in who I thought I was as a basketball player, and not knowing what people thought of me.

I carried that underrated spirit along the way, not receiving many college admissions letters or scholarship offers from many of the major schools with a reputation in college basketball, until I officially received The offer was from Davidson College, a small liberal arts school in North Carolina with about 1,900 students at the time, and all I needed was a little opportunity and a coach who believed in me.

The rest is history from there as I followed my purpose as a basketball player, developing a great work ethic that I still rely on to this day. Now I have played 15 years in the NBA and will try to last as long as possible, but that thought of being underrated still exists and persists in me to this day.”

When asked where his motivation came from to continue pursuing his dream career, Curry said it was something he felt was always there. ” I had it but it was confirmed by people who saw how I express myself. Sometimes you can call it a bit delusional. You can see me as a skinny kid trying to guard the best player on the floor, trying to compete with tall opponents than me because I feel like I belong.

“But the people around me confirmed: keep doing what you’re doing, keep believing in yourself and always have the mindset of taking advantage of every opportunity to play basketball. I brought that with me. The difficult thing now is that when you achieve a little bit of success, you tend to lose that spirit and mindset, and I have to remind myself of where I came from and how far I’ve come.” ,  Chef Curry shared his motivation to maintain his passion.

Looking at the current generation of youth basketball, Curry said, ” I see the next generation of youth as having the ability to influence and inspire, and help create opportunities in some of the work I’m doing off the court.” . I feel like there’s something approachable in the way I play the game. Even when you see me playing against guys in the NBA right now, I still look like the smallest guy out there, but I try playing above my stature. People were attracted to the way I played and hopefully it was inspired .”
