NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal found himself embroiled in an online feud with rapper Kanye West after the latter shared a post on social media praising Canadian entrepreneur Dov Charney.
The post, which seemingly depicted West expressing gratitude for assistance received during a difficult time, drew sharp criticism from O’Neal.
Shaq didn’t hold back on Kanye
Taking to the comment section, a screenshot showed O’Neal didn’t hold back in his commentary, telling West to “man up” and cease his actions, referring to them as “b—–” and “snitchin.”
The NBA icon’s direct message to West underscored his disapproval of the rapper’s post, calling him a “lil boy.”
Shaq’s full comment, which was later deleted said “Who cares stop B—– and snitchin. i kno u saw me at the Super Bowl i was waiting for u to say something smart. man up. nobody wanna see u cryin man up lil boy,”
The exchange between the two celebrities quickly caught the attention of fans, with many expressing surprise at the unexpected feud.
Speculations arose regarding the origin of the conflict, with some recalling past interactions between O’Neal and West, particularly when the rapper criticized O’Neal’s business dealings amid the Kyrie Irving anti-Semitism scandal.
This recent clash isn’t the first time O’Neal and West have found themselves at odds.
In 2022, they sparred over comments made by Irving, with West criticizing O’Neal’s business partnerships.
Despite the online tension, O’Neal remained focused on his own endeavors, including his recent jersey retirement ceremony with the Orlando Magic.
O’Neal immortalized with the Orlando Magic
The ceremony, which took place following the Magic’s game against the Oklahoma City Thunder, commemorated O’Neal’s significant contributions to the team during his tenure.
Selected as the No. 1 overall pick in the 1992 NBA Draft, O’Neal’s impact on the Magic was immediate, earning him Rookie of the Year honors and leading the team to their first-ever NBA Finals appearance.
