An NFL writer has listed the New York Jets as a top potential landing spot for one of the big-named quarterback prospects in the 2024 NFL Draft.
The New York Jets are set at quarterback for 2024, with Aaron Rodgers set to return from a season-ending Achilles tear. They also signed journeyman Tyrod Taylor as insurance, and 2021 first-round pick Zach Wilson remains on the roster with a trade still yet to come to fruition.
Bleacher Report’s Brent Sobleski offered the best landing spots for several injured 2024 NFL Draft prospects. There, Sobleski listed the Jets as one of the top destinations for Florida State quarterback Jordan Travis:
“Prior to the injury, the 23-year-old didn’t find himself among the top quarterback prospects. He has a smaller frame (6’1”, 200 lbs), middling arm strength, inconsistent processing and shaky pocket presence. But he displayed a quick release, excellent movement skills and ability to create outside of structure.
He could have been an strong possibility in the third- or fourth-round range. He might find himself still waiting a little longer on draft weekend considering the injury…For a franchise with an older or uncertain quarterback situation, without the benefit of a top-five draft pick, Travis could be an intriguing developmental addition.”
Travis suffered a gruesome leg fracture in the Seminoles’ Nov. 18 came against North Alabama, abruptly ending his NCAA college career. Despite finishing a perfect 13-0, the Seminoles were controversially snubbed from the College Football Playoff National Championship.
Instead, the Alabama Crimson Tide snuck in as the No. 4 team. Florida Senator Rick Scott was so outraged over the snubbing of FSU that he demanded answers in a letter sent to the College Football Playoff Selection Committee.
In his final season of college football, Jordan Travis threw for 2,756 yards and 20 touchdowns against only two interceptions.

New York Jets Should Definitely Draft A Quarterback
With Aaron Rodgers turning 41 in December, the upcoming NFL Draft feels like the perfect opportunity for the New York Jets to grab a quarterback of the future.
The New York Jets remain in win-now mode, so they shouldn’t take a quarterback until round three at earliest. If someone like Travis is available in the mid-to-late rounds, Robert Saleh and company should definitely make the move.
Though Rodgers is nearing the end of his playing career, there are several young cornerstones in place, such as Garrett Wilson, Breece Hall, Alijah Vera-Tucker and Sauce Gardner. If the Jets can draft a QB to learn behind Rodgers for at least a year or two, they’ll be set up nicely long-term.
