McAfee claimed the Texans are doing whatever they can to win a championship.

Pat McAfee perhaps wasn’t ready for the Houston Texans to sign someone like Stefon Diggs. The Texans had a reputation as a UFL team because of their constant failures. However, times have changed in the AFC South with the blockbuster trade.
Being part of the AFC South, McAfee would prefer the Colts to be the best team and dominate every year. However, within just two years, the Texans have significantly upgraded their squad. After making the playoffs last year, the Texans look primed to return to post-season in the coming year as well. This resulted in a four-word reaction from McAfee to the Texans signing Diggs.

The Texans already had a commanding offensive line that included Shaq Mason, George Fant, and Tytus Howard. During the offseason, DeMeco Ryans took over for his maiden campaign. He drafted Ohio State graduate CJ Stroud along with wide receiver Tank Dell in the third round.
Experienced playmaker Nico Collins is backed up by a tight end, Dalton Schultz, who proved to be a solid combination. With such firepower, the Texans beat the odds, finishing 10-7 and reaching the divisional playoff round. Stroud bagged the Offensive Rookie of the Year award after racking up 319 completions for 4108 yards. He also threw 23 touchdown passes, leading the league in yards per game (273.9).
This isn’t the cause of concern for Pat McAfee because he knows the new season brings new challenges. But what should worry him is that the Texans managed to retain all the key players and have added linebacker Deshawn Phillips, defensive tackle Tim Settle Jr., and the biggest of them all, Stefon Diggs, from the Buffalo Bills.

Pat McAfee on the Stefon Diggs trade to the Houston Texans
On Wednesday night, the entire NFL world focused on the sales tax voting results in Kansas City. Simultaneously, the Texans announced they were trading for Stefon Diggs. For most, it would appear the move came out of nowhere, but Diggs’ departure was coming one way or another.

Even before the offseason began last year, there were concrete rumors that Diggs and Bills quarterback Josh Allen were at odds. The duo denied it several times later on. But another disappointing exit in the playoffs may have triggered Diggs to leave the team.
It seems like it's a team doing whatever it possibly can to get a championship. They draft CJ Stroud second overall. Not the best QB in the draft class. They got weapons, they got a culture, [and] now they added another No. 1 receiver [Stefon Diggs].Pat McAfee via The Pat McAfee Show
Although Nico Collins has touched the 1200-yard mark (2023), none of the current Texans WRs have crossed 1500 like Diggs. He was a mid-thigh receiver in Minnesota but blossomed in Buffalo after teaming up with Allen. Now, with another young and efficient quarterback throwing the ball, Diggs could make a big push to win the Super Bowl ring he always wanted.
