NBA Rudy Gobert and Draymond Green

Draymond Green doesn’t like Rudy Gobert, that’s been pretty clear since he throttled him at the start of the season. Perhaps that explains his latest comment about the Frenchman and the Timberwolves. His playoff prediction is not in Minnesota’s favor.

If rivalries are no longer as fashionable as in the 90s, NBA interiors still try to keep the tradition alive. For example, since their adolescence, Chet Holmgren and Victor Wembanyama have been compared, pitted against each other, and this is something they keep in mind every time they face each other. It’s no coincidence that games between the Spurs and Thunder captivated the crowds this year

Still in this Western conference, Draymond Green and Rudy Gobert went even further. Indeed, at the start of the season, the Warriors legend completely broke down during a small altercation and strangled the Timberwolves pivot from behind. Since that day, and this is quite normal, everyone has been waiting for the reunion.

Draymond Green doesn’t believe in Minnesota for the playoffs

A playoff series between these two teams could be exceptional, but for that, the Warriors will have to win two Play-in games, then qualify for the conference finals. On the other hand, Minnesota should already get out of the Suns trap, and Draymond Green doesn’t necessarily believe that. He spoke in his podcast.

The Timberwolves play with two interior bigs in Rudy Gobert and Karl-Anthony Towns. It’s interesting, because you would think their size would be an advantage against Phoenix, but no one plays like that anymore. In the playoffs, you’re not going to play Rudy Gobert in the post, and as long as he’s on the field, you can’t play KAT in the post. The racket would be too full.

Conversely, Phoenix plays opposite basketball. Grayson Allen has never been better at address, and everyone knows how Kevin Durant can score. We know that Devin Booker and Bradley Beal can also shoot from afar. If the Timberwolves miss an attempt at the post, the other side will run and score 3 points. Size will therefore not necessarily be an advantage.

For Draymond Green, the size of the Timberwolves could be a handicap against the Suns. In today’s game, having two bigs would be a disadvantage more than an advantage, especially against a team that has so many triggers. The Warriors interior knows that Rudy Gobert is not dangerous at the basket, that KAT will have limited opportunities, which could lead to a big surprise.

Draymond Green doesn’t see how Minnesota could get out of the series against the Suns, since the latter represent everything that hurts the Wolves defensively. It’s up to Rudy Gobert and KAT to prove that they can shine, even in the playoffs.
