According to Chris Broussard of Fox Sports, LeBron James, star player of the Los Angeles Lakers, will not win another championship for the rest of his career until the Lakers sign his former teammate Kyrie Irving.
Broussard expressed dissatisfaction about the Lakers’ recent success, claiming that the team requires a superstar to complement LeBron. He said that the Lakers forward would win a second championship.
“I don’t think he will,” Broussard said about the notion of James winning another title with the Lakers.… This is the one way I think that he could win another championship. And this won’t happen because this team is really playing well.
If they somehow were able to get Kyrie Irving and you’re talking about A.D. (Anthony Davis), LeBron and Kyrie. Kyrie knows how to play with LeBron. He’ll defer to LeBron, respects LeBron. That would be — I think they’d be able to win a championship.
But that’s not going to happen. Obviously, Dallas is happy with Kyrie. Otherwise, I don’t see them winning it.” Broussard said.
LeBron James and Kyrie Irving have had some impressive games together in the past
LeBron James and Kyrie Irving had a fantastic winning record together, particularly during their NBA Championship-winning season as the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2016. Irving’s joining the Lakers will help the team because of their previous success working together.
In the 2023–24 regular season, Irving’s Dallas Mavericks have outperformed every other team in the NBA in recent weeks. The Mavericks presently have the NBA’s longest winning streak, which stands at seven games.
The Lakers may have some advantages because of their skills. Irving is an important player for the Dallas Mavericks. He is helping his team win stressful games. He can have a significant impact on the court, as seen by his recent performances.
