The Lakers star LeBron James has been in the NBA for more than two decades and it is almost time that the “Chosen One” hangs up his sneakers. Former 76ers star Danny Green recently delved into Bron’s retirement and gave his take on the subject.

He had a very convincing reasoning behind Bron’s reason for staying and when he could possibly retire. Moreover, the Lakers star himself dropped big info on his retirement plans after his latest game against the Nets.

Danny Green’s take on LeBron James’ retirement

Former Philadelphia 76ers star Danny Green appeared on NBA Today on ESPN to offer his views on current events in the NBA. He took part in a lot of discussions and LeBron James’ retirement was one of them.

The Lakers star is 39 years old now and has been going non-stop for more than two decades now. People have speculated about his retirement many times but King James has always surpassed them and kept going.

However, it looks like his reign in the NBA might finally be coming to an end. Green explained that Bron might retire in a year or less.

“They can offer him a contract but he is still gonna retire before the contract ends. I give it one more year. He’s gonna try and play with Bronny. 22 years with that body, those miles, it’s coming to an end quickly… I see him extending one more year to play with Bronny,” said Green.

He highlighted that if King James decided to play one more year, it would be because of his long-desired wish to play alongside his son in the NBA. Bronny James, LeBron’s eldest son is in college right now and is making a name for himself. He is almost ready to step into the NBA, however, we don’t exactly know when that might happen.

LeBron gives insights on his retirement

After the Lakers won against the Brooklyn Nets in their last game, the Lakers star did a post-game interview where he talked about his retirement.

He reminded his fans that his time to step away was close and that they should prepare themselves for it. He highlighted that he can’t carry forever even if he would love to do so and that the time to retire is near.

Not very long. I am on the other side of the hill. I am not going to play another 21 years, that’s for sure. But not very long. I do not know what or when the door will close. As far as when I retire, I do not have much time left,” said LeBron providing insights on the future of his career.
