The NC State basketball team pulled off the improbable, and Russell Wilson enjoyed every second of it. Wolfpack, who are the No. 11 seed going into Sunday night’s clash, defeated the 4th seed Duke 76-64 in the Elite Eight.
They belonged to the DJ duo. Both DJ Horne and DJ Burns were the difference-makers; at one point, they added 10 consecutive baskets for NC State. Burns finished the game with 29, while Horne added 20.
On the other hand, the Duke Blue Devils were struggling big time. The game was very much over when NC State took a 56-44 lead in the game.
With the win, the Wolfpack became only the 6th No. 11 seed ever to reach the Final Four in men’s NCAA tournament history. No team lower than that has ever managed to reach that stage.
Russell Wilson channels his inner Deion Sanders, sharing a motivational quote before the NC State game
Any football fan who loves to surf around on the internet knows that Russell Wilson loves to motivate people by sharing inspirational quotes. Before the Wolfpack’s game on Sunday, possibly to hype up his former school, the 5-year-old took a page out of Deion Sanders‘ book of wisdom.
The Super Bowl winner must follow his own advice if he wants to remain the starter for the Pittsburgh Steelers in his first year in the Steel City. His backup, Justin Fields, could easily take his place if he manages to shine during the OTAs and pre-season.
Wilson signed a one-year, $1.2 million deal with the Steelers following his two-year turbulent spell with the Denver Broncos. His 2023 season at Mile High ended prematurely after he refused to restructure his $242.5 million deal in 2022.
Despite being on the verge of taking the Broncos into the postseason, head coach Sean Payton decided to bench the former Seahawk. They finished third in the AFC West with eight wins and nine losses
