Kansas City Chiefs President Mark Donovan is keeping an eye on Rashee Rice‘s situation. On Saturday night, two luxury cars crashed into a few other vehicles on the North Central Expressway in Dallas around 6:25 p.m. near Lovers Lane.

A Chevrolet Corvette and a black Lamborghini SUV were speeding on the freeway when one of them swerved and hit another car, causing a chain reaction. When the dust settled down, a bystander caught as many as five people leaving the scene of the accident.

Dallas Police later revealed that one of the two cars was registered in Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice‘s name. However, the police have yet to confirm whether Rice was one of the occupants.

Later, a woman who was a victim of road rage claimed that none of the drivers came to check up on her or the others. She was with her 4-year-old son and was fortunate enough to escape with only a few scratches.

Two days later, on Monday, Chiefs President Mark Donovan appeared on “Mundo in the Morning” on Kansas City radio station KCMO. Donovan conveyed the Chiefs will wait until there’s a clear picture and then make their decision on Rice.

In all these situations, you have to wait until you have all the facts, and frankly, we don’t have all the facts at this point. Fortunately, it doesn’t appear that anyone was hurt, and we should be grate[ful] for that. We’ll get to the bottom of it and gather the facts, and we’ll react accordingly.

Mark Donovan said.

The police are still looking for Rashee Rice, who was born in North Richmond Hills, Texas. After graduating from school, he joined the SMU Mustangs in college, where he played for 4 years before the Kansas City Chiefs selected him in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft.

It’s still unclear whether he was at the scene or not, but a pair of cleats have been found lying at the crash site. The police believe that it could belong to Rice, but further investigation is required.

In the meantime, the 23-year-old, per NBC News, has sought the help of Royce West, an attorney as well as a Democratic state senator for that area in Dallas.

On behalf of Rashee Rice, his thoughts are with everyone impacted by the automobile accident on Saturday. Rice is cooperating with authorities [and] will take all necessary steps to address this situation responsibly.

Royce West said.

Drafting Rice was another masterstroke from the Chiefs scouting team and general manager Brett Veach. The SMU alumni racked up 79 catches for 938 yards and 7 touchdowns in the regular season and played a crucial part in playoffs helping the Chiefs in winning Super Bowl LVIII.
