This week, the Kansas City Chiefs showed off new renderings of their proposed overhaul of GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium, pending Jackson County vote.
Also, this week was the second installment of the NFLPA releasing its 2024 internal players survey. Players were polled on their satisfaction with their respective franchises in a variety of subjects ranging from food to treatment of families to coaching to ownership.
The Chiefs received a D-plus or worse in seven of 12 categories, including locker room, treatment of families, and team travel.
Do you know who doesn’t have a terrible time at Arrowhead Stadium? The owner, Clark Hunt.
This week, details emerged about team owner Clark Hunt’s Arrowhead Stadium suite which has been described as a lavish ‘3 story, 6 bedroom house’ with amenities including a spiral staircase and full kitchen.
His suite has a massive spiral staircase, hardwood floors, and decorative stained glass windows. There are multiple televisions throughout the place so you can stay warm and far away from the frigid temps that have often been seen in Kansas City.
The stadium was built in 1969 and opened in 1972 by the original team owner, Lamar Hunt, father of Clark. He ran the franchise until he passed away in 2006 and left the team to his child, Clark.
In the meantime, the Chiefs were the second-worst-graded team at No. 31. As stated above, they received F’s for nutrition, locker room, and training staff. They also earned Ds for treatment of facilities, training rooms, and team travel.
The team held a press conference Wednesday as they have many new amenities they aim to build in a reimagined Arrowhead Stadium. The Hunt family will put up $300 million of the $800 million price tag.
