Bronny James’ massive announcement began spreading like wildfire in no time.
LeBron and Bronny James
The wait is over! Bronny James, eldest son of Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James, has finally ended all speculation regarding his future by declaring for the 2024 NBA draft after one season of college basketball at the USC Trojans.
Bronny announced the same on Friday via his account on Instagram. He also intends to maintain his college eligibility and has entered the NCAA transfer portal in order to keep his options open.
Furthermore, as part of the process, he would visit various NBA teams and take part in training exercises, including a routine NBA fitness program to ascertain if he has become fit after his cardiac arrest scare. This will in turn make him prepared and remain attractive to prospective teams, irrespective of the star power he carries due to his familiar surname.
However, there’s still a high chance of him returning for a second year at college, but there’s no guarantee that he will be at the USC Trojans after their past coach, Andy Enfield, left to join SMU. Earlier, his superstar dad said that his son had a tough decision and would support him as a family.
Fans react to Bronny James’ NBA Draft decision
Earlier today Bronny James finally made up his mind on his decision to join the 2024 NBA Draft and while the news was hitting the web, it caused a major storm on social media. The eldest son of LeBron James has always been popular and every major move of his is surely bound to trend.
Taking to popular social media platform, one user @imjdsharp wrote: “This means dad’s retiring next year,” in reference to his dad’s commitment to one day play with his son. Check out some of the other reactions:
While there is a lot of skepticism surrounding this decision as most expected he would need to stay one more year in college, he won’t be the first player to go from the hinges to becoming a leading figure. That aside, Bron’s courage and determination to come back from a life-changing ailment to now is a testament to his will to succeed no matter the obstacle.
