While the upcoming postseason is important for the Lakers, some are wondering if Anthony Davis could be traded soon. If so, one GM thinks they have the perfect interior destination.
Eighth in the Western Conference, the Lakers will have to go through the play-in to reach the playoffs. An important step, especially since Darvin Ham’s men will travel to New Orleans on Thursday to face Zion Williamson and his partners. The good news ? They won against them this Sunday with a score of 124-108.
The perfect destination found for Anthony Davis?
Trade Davis? It seems impossible when we know his importance in the squad and yet, that does not prevent some from imagining an exchange from the inside if the opportunity arises. An anonymous GM explains that sending Unibrow to the Knicks wouldn’t necessarily be a bad thing this summer.
A GM on Anthony Davis : “If you’re going to get serious about trading Anthony Davis, then you’re going to have to accomplish a few things first. You have to send him somewhere he wants to play. He wants to be a Laker after all. So if you decide to trade it, you have to do it properly. You have to send him to a good team, a good market, so as not to ruin your deal with Klutch Sports. A team that wants to absorb his contract. And a team capable of sending you draft picks. »
There’s one team that fits all of that, and it’s the Knicks. It wouldn’t be difficult to negotiate with them. The salaries are there, you can get plenty of draft picks. You can send a young player. Davis is just one player, and the Lakers can get a lot of things out of that. »
Trade Davis? There is no doubt that the fans do not agree, even if it must be admitted that the Knicks could send solid assets in return. But everything remains possible in the world of the NBA, especially if the Lakers fail to reach the playoffs this week for example.
Proposing a trade for Anthony Davis is probably quite frowned upon in the City of Angels. The interior is very important for his people, but nothing should be ruled out when we see the difficulties of the Angelinos.
