The Golden State Warriors won against the Miami Heat on Tuesday
The Golden State Warriors got an important win against the Miami Heat on Tuesday. The win for the team is a step in the right direction as they are the 10th seed in the Western Conference. Winning a game on the road after losing two straight has helped the Warriors fans gain confidence.
Fans are not the only ones who have gained faith in the team. The Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry has shown optimism for the team’s future in the season.
In the post-game press conference after the 113-92 win, the guard spoke about the team’s regular season standings. The star was asked about the team’s success on the road.
That's why we think we're still a good team that can beat anybody.Said Curry
According to Curry, the team believes they are a good team based on their success on the road. The 36-year-old also mentioned that the Warriors’ have had big leads over good teams at home but unfortunately have failed to get the right result.
Curry and the Warriors still believe that they can turn things around and win a playoff series against any team in the Western Conference regardless of their position in the standings.
The Warriors won the game against the Miami Heat for their dominant performance in the second half. The Heat had the lead at the half, but Dubs turned the game right over in the third. The Warriors outscored the Heat 60-37 in the last two quarters.
The win for the most part was a team effort with one player shining bright on the scoring board, Warriors shooting guard Klay Thompson.
Klay Thompson leads the Warriors to a road win
This season for Klay Thompson has been full of ups and downs. Earlier this season, the four-time champion was removed from the starting lineup. The player’s underwhelming performance led the Warriors head coach Steve Kerr to take this decision.
However, the decision turned out to be a positive one as Thompson’s performance improved drastically coming off the bench.
Now the guard has gained his esteem back as he returned to the starting lineup against the Heat. And the player did not disappoint the opportunity. Thompson led the team to a win with the highest-scoring performance of the night.
The star scored 28 points in the limited time of 31 minutes. The Splash brother showed off his shooting skills and shot six three-pointers. The athlete achieved this score without attempting a single free throw and with a 55% fight goal percentage.
Curry’s statement regarding the Warriors being a good team may not be far-fetched. The team won an important game with group effort and without Curry playing leading the pack. The star did not have to play heavy minutes and scored similar points to Andrew Wiggins and Jonathan Kuminga. If the Warriors play like this in every game and get consecutive wins, they have a chance to prove Curry’s statement right.
