© Manga Mag – After Luffy’s GEAR 5: This theory about the sixth defies all expectations!
Show sections
In the One Piece universe, rich in mysteries and revelations, a fascinating theory is circulating among fans: Luffy, by unlocking Gear 6, would have the power to destroy the mythical GrandLine. Eiichiro Oda, the genius behind this epic saga since 1998, continues to keep us in suspense with unexpected transformations and twists.
After witnessing the reveal of the Gear 5, Reddit user u/Ok_Depth6077 believes that if Luffy were able to activate the Gear 6, he could wipe out the Grand Line , which is said to extend 10,000 meters deep , from the sea surface to Fish-Man Island at the bottom of the ocean.
The Gear 6, a possibility beyond expectations
Luffy’s form holds particular significance in the story, and Gear 5, often considered the peak of Luffy’s abilities, has been described as the best transformation ever seen by One Piece fans. However, some are already considering what lies beyond the Gear 5, and many theories have emerged as to when the Gear 6 will appear.
The Gear 6 would tear through the Grand Line, a feat deemed impossible in the One Piece universe, according to Reddit user u/Ok_Depth6077. Even the strongest devil fruits failed to damage it, but according to theory, this immutable wall would eventually be destroyed by Luffy.
According to this theory, the Gear 6 would be an enlarged version of the Bajrang gun but 20 times larger, which could be plausible since the only drawback of the Gear 5 is the power of the user’s imagination. If Luffy’s mental strength increases, this theory could become reality.
The Future of Luffy and Gear 6
Gear 5 is the last transformation that Luffy acquired during his fight against Kaido, and ever since, fans have been curious to know when the next transformation will appear. Unfortunately, the chances of seeing anything beyond are not high.
Luffy’s new form allows him to do impossible things if he can imagine them; this is the best power level Luffy can achieve. All he has to do now is master all the other aspects of it, and he would undoubtedly become the strongest in the One Piece universe.
The Gear 6 should be something that makes sense for the story , and given Luffy’s inordinate power with the Gear 5, his only drawback being his imagination, Oda sensei would probably avoid adding a new form.
With the story approaching its climax very soon and the length of time between each transformation factored in, this will most likely not happen.
