LOVE Island’s Jessy Potts leapt to Joey Essex’s defence tonight after new boy Blade Siddiqi took a brutal swipe at him.

The Casa Amor lad mocked Joey’s intellect as the two villas battled it out in a saucy snogging game.

Jessy insisted Joey wasn’t ‘that dumb’
Joey kissed his former fling Emma Milton after the villa received a text telling the oldest boy to snog the oldest girl.

Blade suggested Joey wouldn’t be able to grasp the challenge quickly enough to win, describing him as “not the sharpest tool in the box”.

It didn’t sit well with Jessy, who had been pursuing Joey before the boys and girls were divided for Casa Amor.

She said: “He’s not that dumb, leave him alone.

“Come on now, he’s not.”

Her remarks were met with raised eyebrows from villa rival Grace Jackson, who had been partnered with Joey before Jessy arrived and stole him from her.

Viewers were amused by the mud-slinging, though opinions on who was actually in the right varied.

It would be wise for Grace to give him a chance as last night Joey officially shut down any future between them.

The pair had been head over heels following Grace’s arrival two weeks ago.

Joey ditched his then partner Samantha Kenny to reconnect with her and faced a backlash as a result.

But days ago Jessy threw a spanner in the works when she chose to steal Joey from Grace and proceeded to snog him.

After the new batch of girls arrived in Casa Amor, Joey’s head was seemingly turned again.

He brutally replied: “That whole grace situation. That’s finished. That’s done!

“I have recoupled. I got chosen the other night by Jessy but her options are open, my options are open.”

The lads seemed just as surprised as the girls by his forthright answer, while viewers at home shared their surprise on X.
