Hollywood actress Jessica Alba has been known for her openness regarding her beliefs and upbringing. Raised in a Catholic household, she upheld her faith until venturing into the entertainment industry.

The actress gained recognition with her role in James Cameron’s sci-fi drama, Dark Angel, where she crossed paths with co-star Michael Weatherly.

Soon after meeting on the show, they started dating and even got engaged. However, Alba’s parents reportedly disapproved of her involvement with Weatherly, who was twelve years older than her.

Jessica Alba has shared that she did not have a serious relationship until she met the Dark Angel co-star Michael Weatherly. The actress met her when she was 18 and Weatherly was in his thirties.

And their age gap also became one of the many reasons the former couple remained in discussions.

Weatherly also proposed to Alba on her 20th birthday. They were engaged for about two years before announcing their split in 2003.

The Good Luck Chuck star reflected on her relationship and the canceled engagement with the 55-year-old actor, in an interview with Cosmopolitan.

“It just didn’t work out. I was so young, 18 when I started dating him,” she said as she explained the significance she placed on finding love with her first s*xual partner.

Jessica Alba also emphasized that she wanted to ensure that her partner was in love with her.

“I was a virgin. I knew I wanted to be in love with the first person I slept with, because for almost everyone I knew, the first experience made them feel like shit. So I wanted to be really careful that he was going to be in love with me and wasn’t just going to leave me.”

However, her parents were not happy with her relationship. The actress shared that her relationship and engagement with Weatherly strained her family ties. She stated that her religious parents “weren’t happy” with their engagement.

During her interview, Jessica Alba also reflected on the challenges of dating an actor. She highlighted the constant demands and distractions actors face, before stating her decision to avoid being in a relationship with actors in the future due to such difficulties.

“Actors are pulled in so many different directions that unless you both are absolutely into it through thick and thin and completely sure about each other, it’s just hard. I’ve decided I’ll never date an actor again.”

While she has been linked to Oscar-nominated actor Mark Wahlberg, she has denied saying anything about it. “I don’t want to say, but I will say they’re both really nice guys,” she said upon being asked about Wahlberg and the sports star Derek Jeter.

Alba also confirmed her relationship with the film producer Cash Warren. The couple first met while working on the 2005 film Fantastic Four.

They announced their engagement in 2007 and got married the following year. The couple share three children, daughters Honor Marie and Haven Garner, and a son Hayes.
