The upcoming DC Elseworlds movie The Batman Part II has reportedly received an exciting update following the news of a delay.

 

Recently, it came to light that the release of The Batman sequel has been delayed by an entire year due to strike-related reasons.

 

Instead of premiering in October 2025, the sequel is now expected to hit theatres in October 2026.

According to industry tipster Jeff Sneider,  filming for The Batman Part II is set to kick off in April next year, with cast news expected to drop this fall.

 

The Batman Part II is set to continue the story from the first film, with the return of key characters such as the Riddler and a different incarnation of the Joker.

 

The sequel is expected to explore Gotham’s rebuilding efforts following the death of Carmine Falcone, with chaos and corruption at an all-time high.

The confirmed cast for The Batman Part II includes Robert Pattinson as Batman, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, and Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth.

 

Other characters like Jim Gordon, Alfred Pennyworth, Catwoman, Penguin, the Riddler, and potentially Harvey Dent aka Two-Face are expected to return, with the casting for Two-Face being down to Joel Edgerton and Josh Hartnett.

The sequel is also rumoured to feature the villainous Clayface, with speculation about the character’s version and the involvement of the Court of Owls.

Barry Keoghan’s Joker is expected to have a larger role, and Paul Dano‘s Riddler is likely to be a significant presence.

The Batman: Part II is scheduled for release on October 2, 2026.
