The legend that is Mike Tyson has been heavily criticized for syaing yes to fighting Jake Paul, the Youtuber-turned-boxer who has only lost one out of 10 fights he’s been involved with. Until landing this fight against ‘Iron Mike’, the only fight Jake lost has been against a professional boxer.

Many of his other victories have been against either MMA athletes or athletes in other sports. But this age gap between both of them has been the main point of contention since the event was announced. Multiple experts and authorized voices in the area have expressed their concern that a 58-year-old Mike Tyson could be in danger if he gets a serious hit in the head.

Multiple memes have been made from this announcement alone.

Mike Tyson hits back at critics

Amid so many different voices expressing their concern over Mike Tyson’s well-being, we still hadn’t heard his reaction until today. The people at Reuters got a hold of Mike Tyson, who said: “I’m 58, and what? I’m getting billions of views from just talking about fighting. Everybody, even most of the athletes, they’re jealous…

You couldn’t sell out an arena. Who at 58 can sell out an 80,000-seat arena? Why do you think he wants to fight me and not anybody else? All the boxers want to fight him. But if he fought them, the only people that will come are the people that like him. Their parents might not even come watch them.”

The case remains open here, it is impossible to gauge how successful Mike Tyson will be against Jake Paul until we get to see them step on that ring. Right now, it is easy to offer any opinion on what we think may happen on July 20. Despite being 58, Mike is still that same man who was feared by all of his peers when he was in his prime.

The last thing one loses is the punching power. He may not have the stamina anymore but he only needs one accurate punch to send Jake Paul to sleep.
