Lakers fans: Congratulate LeBron James as breaks the NBA scoring record - Los Angeles Times

Ever since he first entered the NBA, LeBron James has been held to the highest standard. And why not? He was the high school phenom dubbed ‘The Chosen One’, so people expected nothing but the best from him.

But like any other player, LeBron has his off nights. There are playoff series where he doesn’t perform up to par. And although the big performances easily outnumber the bad ones, the latter is always more talked about and even remembered.

That was the case in 2010 when the Cleveland Cavaliers met the Boston Celtics in the second round of the playoffs. The Cavs entered the postseason with the best record in the NBA at 61-21. Meanwhile, the Celtics were the 4th seed in the Eastern Conference after a 50-32 regular season campaign.

But what many thought to be an easy out for the Cavs turned out to be a disaster of a series as they were upset in six games. As expected, most criticisms was pointed toward LeBron, and the young King had this to say.

“I spoil a lot of people with my play,” said James. “When you have a bad game here or there, you’ve had three bad games in a seven-year career, then it’s easy to point that out. So you got to be better.”
