LSU Tigers head coach Kim Mulkey is making the most of her offseason after another successful campaign for the team. While the Tigers fell short of the Final Four this year, losing to Iowa in the Elite Eight, Mulkey has been busy on and off the court.

Recently, a photo of Mulkey with Ben Mintz from Barstool Sports at a charity basketball game made waves on social media, garnering over two million views. It’s just one highlight of what has already been a significant offseason for Mulkey and the Tigers.

With multiple players leaving the program, including Angel Reese to the WNBA Draft and Hailey Van Lith to the transfer portal, Mulkey has been actively recruiting new talent to bolster her roster. The Tigers have secured commitments from Shayeann Day-Wilson from Miami, Kailyn Gilbert from Arizona, and Mjracle Sheppard from Mississippi State.

Despite these changes, LSU is expected to be a strong contender in the SEC for the 2024/25 season. While South Carolina, the reigning national champion, may be the preseason favorite, Mulkey’s Tigers are not to be underestimated.

As Mulkey enjoys her offseason, fans eagerly await the start of the 2024/25 women’s college basketball season. With Mulkey at the helm, LSU is poised for another exciting year on the court.

LSU has strengthened its roster with key additions: Kailyn Gilbert from Arizona, Shayeann Day-Wilson from Miami, and Mjracle Shepphard from Mississippi State. They will be joined by transfer forward Jersey Wolfenbarger and incoming freshman Jada Richard.

“We could not be more excited to add Shayeann, Kailyn and Mjracle to the LSU family,” Mulkey said.

“The three of them will add a combination of experience and depth on the perimeter for us and will bolster our roster to continue to compete at an elite level.”
