Zendaya‘s big boom in the film world continues on as the Euphoria and Dune: Part Two star makes her way on the tennis court with Luca Guadagnino’s Challengers. The romance-sports flick from Amazon MGM Studios is surely pumping up for its release in a few weeks with a new clip to go.

 

New 'Challengers' Clip Sees Zendaya In Between Relationships (Watch)

 

According to the film’s synopsis, “Challengers stars Zendaya as Tashi Duncan, a former tennis prodigy turned coach and a force of nature who makes no apologies for her game on and off the court.”

 

 

“Married to a champion on a losing streak (Mike Faist, West Side Story), Tashi’s strategy for her husband’s redemption takes a surprising turn when he must face off against the washed-up Patrick (Josh O’Connor, The Crown) – his former best friend and Tashi’s former boyfriend. As their pasts and presents collide, and tensions run high, Tashi must ask herself, what will it cost to win.”

 

Originally, Challengers was set to release in August 2023 as a direct-to-streaming film for Prime Video. However, due to last year’s SAG-AFTRA strike, the film’s release was pushed back and pulled from the Venice International Film Festival.

 

Now, it looks like the film is taking its shot as Zendaya, who is also producing the film alongside Rachel O’Connor and Amy Pascal, has continually promoted the film over on her Instagram. Additionally, the film had its first premiere in Australia yesterday, setting its sights for more.

 

Challengers releases in theaters on April 26.
