Anthony Joshua’s next fight has been leaked as opponent and venue named.

Last month, AJ returned to the boxing ring in spectacular style at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The Brit was up against former UFC champion Francis Ngannou and dispatched his opponent inside two rounds with a devastating blow.

After the fight, a rejuvenated Joshua said: “When I saw the fight with Fury, I thought damn, this guy could fight, I wanted a piece of that.

“He’s an inspiration, a great champion, and this shouldn’t take away from his capabilities. He can come again. I told him he shouldn’t leave boxing. He’s two fights in, and he’s fought the best.”

Now, a lot of talk has been about whether Joshua will fight the winner of Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk, which is set to take place on May 18.

The pair were originally scheduled to fight in February but the bout was delayed after Fury suffered a cut above his eye during a sparring session.

However, Derek Chisora has claimed that the former Olympic gold medalist will in fact fight the winner of Daniel Dubois vs Filip Hrgovic at Wembley later this year.

As reported by talkSPORT, Chisora told iFL TV: “He(Joshua) will fight the winner of Daniel Dubois and (Filip) Hrgovic in Wembley (Stadium).”

After Joshua’s victory against Ngannou, his promoter Eddie Hearn claimed that the Brit is the best heavyweight in the world.

He said: “If we won this fight then he would fight the winner of Fury v Usyk. You’re looking at the number one heavyweight in the world.

“Tyson Fury please beat Usyk because you will get the biggest fight in the history of the sport. As a fighter, he’s an inspiration to young people.

“What I said would happen, happened. He destroyed Francis Ngannou. He’s a beast and I cannot wait for him to beat Tyson Fury.”

Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury fight plan emerges ahead of Oleksandr Usyk bout

Fury and Joshua have been linked to fight for almost a decade and a path has now opened up for them to meet in the ring later this year, according to Eddie Hearn

Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua has been talked about for almost a decade and it could finally take place this year.

Heavyweight champion Fury is locked into a two-fight deal with bitter rival Oleksandr Usyk as they meet for the undisputed world titles on May 18 in Saudi Arabia. There is a two-way rematch clause for the fight so regardless of the result, they are expected to fight for a second time later this year.

Former two-time world champion Joshua has been promised a shot at Fury or Usyk next after his one-sided KO win against Francis Ngannou last month. Matchroom Boxing boss Eddie Hearn, who promotes Joshua, thinks if Fury beats Usyk next month then a fight against Joshua will be made instead of a rematch with the Ukrainian.

When asked what is more likely to happen first, darts prodigy Luke Littler winning a world championship or Fury fighting Joshua, Hearn told Piers Morgan: “Well because the darts Championship comes in December and January, I’m gonna say that Fury vs AJ happens this year. So I’m gonna say Fury vs AJ [happens first].’

Fury’s promoter Frank Warren isn’t on the same page as Hearn as he thinks the domestic clash won’t take place until next year. “Next March, if Tyson does what I believe he’ll do and AJ continues to win, I’m sure that’ll set up a big fight,” he told Sky Sports. “It’s like going back to the late 60s, 70s, that’s what’s happening now. These guys are all fighting each other.”

Both of Joshua’s recent fights have taken place in Saudi Arabia whilst Fury returns to the Kingdom next month after his controversial fight against Ngannou last October. Warren admitted he wants Fury vs Joshua to take place in the UK but thinks Saudi Arabia will host the fight because that’s where the money is.

“I’ve got to be honest, I think that is where it will go,” Warren added. “Of course, I’d like them in the UK. I look back when I was younger – all those many, many, many years ago – I look at all those really great fighters like Muhammad Ali, George Foreman, where did they put their big fight on?”
