The wife of Kobe Bryant got about $50k less than what she was asking for, but she’s still got the husband.
Vanessa Bryant has sold the California home that was part of her divorce settlement from the basketball star for $3.22 million, according to Radaronline.
In a twist of fate, the couple announced they’d reconciled and dismissed the divorce petition just days after the deal closed in mid-January.
So long farewell: Vanessa Bryant has sold the home she got from her divorce settlement for $3.22 million, however she and the basketball star have recently reconciled and dismissed the divorce petition
What it means is that Vanessa gets to pocket all the profit herself.
Kobe’s partner of 13 years initially listed the 6,000-square-foot mansions in Newport Beach, California for $3.75million, according to TMZ.
The price was more than $1 million over the asking price in 2003, when the couple purchased the property.
According to the website, Vanessa’s mother has lived in the residence since January.
Kobe was living at the Resort at Pelican Hill during his separation from Vanessa, according to Radaronline.
Uprooting: Vanessa allowed her mother to reside in the home which she has now sold
Vanessa has been living in the $4.6 million mansion which is just a few blocks away.
The Los Angeles Lakers personality moved out of the home when news of their pending divorce became public.
Part of his fortune: Kobe signed the deed of the property over to Vanessa during their separation
The couple married on April 18, 2001 and Vanessa filed for divorce from Kobe on Dec 16, 2011.
Kobe and Vanessa requested joint custody of their daughters, Natalia and Gianna.
The third home which Kobe Bryant has now obtained title to himself was purchased in July of 2008 for $9.45million and now appears to be nearing completion after being under construction for the last three years.
In August, Vanessa hit back over claims she married the NBA mega star for the fame and money.
The mother-of-two was responding to a recent interview she gave to New York Magazine, in which she said: ‘I certainly would not want to be married to somebody that can’t win championships.’
But she later corrected herself: ‘I’m sad to hear that comments in my New York Magazine interview are being misconstrued and taken out of context. I have and will continue to support my husband’s dreams.’
Vanessa went on: ‘I have been with Kobe for 13 years. I accepted his marriage proposal prior to him winning any of his five championships with his teammates.
‘For anyone to think otherwise is wrong. It is not about being married to a ‘winner’ it is about our sacrifice as a family. ‘
