Louis Walsh has clawed back his cruel comments about Ronan Keating after he called the Boyzone singer a ‘p***k’.

The Irish talent scout, 71, left the Celebrity Big Brother house in fourth place on Friday after making it to the final.

But his time in the house wasn’t without its controversies, as during the three-and-a-half-week stint Louis made shock comments about Jedward, Anna Wintour, James Corden and Ronan Keating.

Ronan, 47, is a member of Boyzone, a band managed by Louis – who while in the CBB house cursed out the singer in a conversation with Sharon Osbourne.

In an episode of the show, Ronan’s solo single Life Is A Rollercoaster started playing, at which point Louis Said: ‘Great song,’ before leaning over to Sharon and adding: ‘He was such a p***k.

He then said: ‘Everybody thinks he’s a lovely guy, do you know what I mean?’

As the song continued to play, Louis criticised Ronan’s career, saying: ‘He hasn’t had a hit record since I left. He sacked me.’

On Monday, Louis appeared on This Morning to talk to hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley about his time in the house.

During the conversation, Louis appeared to express regret at how he had spoken about Ronan – and other celebrities.

Louis said: ‘I wasn’t being malicious, and I do regret saying stuff about people. I forgot the cameras were on me. I was being honest and not malicious.

‘I didn’t want to fake anything so I sat back and watched everything – I watched everyone else perform.’

He added: ‘With Ronan and I, it was all a little bit of panto. I kind of regret saying what I did. I loved working with him. He was a great worker, and he’s very driven, and very good – very talented.

‘He did sack me, so you know, I don’t say great things about him but I don’t resent him and he’s a good person. I have to put that out there. It’s all just a bit of panto between us.’

Ronan seemed less amiable, as he appeared on TV last week to claim that Louis was ‘showing his true colours’ as he fought the urge to ‘air dirty laundry’.

Louis managed Ronan while he was a member of Boyzone, however he was later sacked when his solo career rocketed after leaving the Irish boyband.

Speaking to Patrick Kielty on The Late Late Show, Ronan said: ‘I’ve never been one to air dirty laundry in public, especially when it comes to Louis.

‘He does a very good job of that and I think he’s showing his true colours in there and I’ll leave him be.’

Louis has taken numerous swipes at Ronan over the years, including previously calling him ‘talentless and spoiled’.

In an interview with Q Magazine in 2012, he said: ‘His head got turned by having nice hotels and chauffeur-driven cars, and he thought he could write songs.

‘If you’re Ronan Keating, who was working in a shoe shop when I discovered him, but end [up] thinking you’re George Michael, then you need to be stopped.’

Ronan has fired back on occasion and previously said on Magic FM that he didn’t want to work with someone who didn’t respect him.

He said: ‘[Louis] was very important to me as a mentor and I’m grateful for the opportunities he gave me, because I wouldn’t be here without them.

‘But there’s only so much you can give back and be so grateful, and for that not to be appreciated or respected.’
