A TV double act looked unrecognisable in orange and green paint in photos shared to their X, formerly known as Twitter, account on Tuesday.

They shared a video of make-up artists slathering them with the paints – one being treated to orange and the other, green.

The cheeky television presenters tweeted along with the video: ‘Someone told us orange and green are our colours, so we went all out.’

A fan in their replies tried to guess what they were dressing as, with one saying ‘lime and orange Tic Tacs’.

The pair first debuted the look on Instagram on Saturday, writing: ‘What? Is there something on our face? #SaturdayNightTakeaway.’

The Geordie favourites also donned bald caps to join the Blue Man Group on stage for the episode’s finale.

Ant and Dec’s make-up artists had to work at lightning speed as their transformation was pulled off just in the advert break.

There are just two episodes of Saturday Night Takeaway left before the live variety programme goes on hiatus.

In February, Ant and Dec revealed series 20 of Takeaway would be its last for a while so they can focus more on family time, ahead of Ant welcoming his first child,

Ant is set to become a father in June as his wife Anne-Marie Corbett, 46, is pregnant. Anne-Marie has two children from her previous marriage.

Speaking to Fault Magazine, Ant said: ‘On a more personal level, part of the reason we’re pausing Takeaway is we need a break ourselves, and we need to spend some time with our family.

‘We’ve both got children that we need to spend time with for a little bit. We need time to think and, and time to step back and look at the bigger picture and just see where we are now.’

The pair will continue their exclusive working relationship with ITV, hosting hit shows including I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, Britain’s Got Talent and Limitless Win, all of which air across ITV1 and ITVX.

Takeaway is going on hiatus so Ant and Dec can focus more on family time, ahead of Ant welcoming his first child with Anne-Marie, 46 (left, pictured in 2021 with Dec’s wife Ali Astall)
