How could the former Warlord possibly give birth to Luffy? That’s something to discuss later on. But first, we need to address the recent theory that links Luffy to Amazon Lily.

The Amazon Lily is an island inhabited by the Kuja tribe, which consists of warrior women. Kuma had teleported Luffy to Amazon Lily using his Nikyu Nikyu no Mi powers. Kuma had teleported each of the Straw Hat crew members to an island where they would learn something. But why did Kuma choose this specific island?

In a recent SBS interview, Eiichiro Oda admitted a fact that could potentially change the reason behind Kuma’s relocation of Luffy. Eiichiro Oda admitted that Kuma’s ability helps him teleport people to places where he has already visited. Given that Kuma has traveled around the world, it is not a surprise.

This leads to the question, why did Kuma visit Amazon Lily? The Kuja are aggressive towards men and have no reason to welcome Kuma. Yet, Kuma had visited the Kuja tribe and knew them well-enough to transport Luffy there.

A possibility behind why Kuma teleported Luffy to Amazon Lily could be because Luffy was born to the Kuja Tribe. Luffy’s father, Monkey D. Dragon, is the leader of the Revolutionary Army. He must have had a connection to Amazon Lily, or maybe Luffy’s mom was a former Kuja queen. Dragon might have encountered Luffy’s mom during one of his quests.

Kuma might have known about this and thus sent Luffy to the island so he could become more familiar with his mother’s native style of battling.

The One Piece Croco-Mom Theory Would No Longer Hold True

If Luffy’s mom indeed hails from Amazon Lily, then the whole Croco-Mom theory would be proved wrong. The theory states that Crocodile is Luffy’s real mom and later went through a gender reassignment surgery to become a man.

This theory is further supported by the fact that Crocodile is familiar with Ivankov since they knew each other at Impel Down. After birthing Luffy, Crocodile could have requested Ivankov to change his gender and could have become a man ever since. Crocodile might want to get rid of Luffy because he is the living proof of his mistake. Crocodiles eat their own babies, and his actions could be a reference to the same fact.

Crocodiles’ past images are nowhere to be found and even in the ones that are available, he looks very androgynous. Even during the execution of Gol D. Roger, Crocodile was shown from the back, with no way to confirm what he looked like. Thus, if the Amazon Lily theory is true, then Croco-Mom would have to take a step back from claiming Luffy.
